Dura-Blast 2460 Spinner Hanger Blast Machine

Dura-Blast 2460 Spinner Hanger Blast Machine

Best-in-class compatibility and consistency with straightforward operation and functionality.

Durability in the details

The machine has two fully cast-lined Mangalloy blast chambers and a pitless design. High chrome, white iron alloy liners and nuts are used to help protect the blast chamber walls. AR rubber seals are used in multiple places around the chamber and shot bed areas to help seal the top and bottom of the chamber.

Options for adjustability

A manually adjustable butterfly valve is standard for amperage and flow settings, but Magna-Valves are available for automated adjustment for varying abrasives or for shot peening.

Abrasive recovery system

The 2460 includes a belt system for abrasive cleaning and recovery which facilitates 100% abrasive air washing and return to the blast wheel storage hopper.

Operator Safety

Some added safety features include a “bump” strip on the front left of the cabinet for auto-stop of chamber rotation. Also, the electrical panel is mounted on vibration isolators. Air intakes and take-offs are positioned for effective and safe removal of blasting dusts.

Plan B consistently works to improve the profitability of our clients by providing timely, alternative, and innovative industrial equipment, services & solutions.

From decades of experience repairing and rebuilding shot blast equipment we have developed our own brand. We know first-hand the importance of durable shot blasting equipment that can be custom-fitted for specific needs and have prioritized these features for each of our models.

Besides invaluable knowledge of the abrasive blast industry, we have countless years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering. This allows us to get the most out of what equipment may already be in a machine and build new machines or components correctly the first time.

We build in-house from the ground up and are happy to discuss custom-builds.

We’ve made it our goal to instill industry-wide, long-term confidence in our name. Trust Dura-Blast with your abrasive shot blast equipment needs.

Features/Specifications

Dura-Blast Blast Wheel

  • Wheel: 3600 RPM, 12”/13.5”/15”, Direct Drive, 7 Blade, cast alloy cage, impeller, and liners, optional variable speed drive. Blades: Long life, cast alloy blades, matched by weight for proper wheel balance.
  • Blast Wheel Housing: Available in 1⁄4” mild steel, AR steel, or manganese steel.

Cabinet Construction

  • Outer Cabinet: A36 in non-blast areas, with AR500 and mangalloy used in all blast areas and high wear areas.
  • Blast Chambers: Dual blast chamber assembly is fabricated from mangalloy, and the walls are fully cast lined.
  • Chamber Liners: High chrome, white iron alloy liners and nuts are used to help protect the blast chamber walls.
  • Chamber Drive: Low speed, high torque, motor and gear box assembly turn a standard HTD style belt that drives the rotating blast chambers.
  • Chamber Seals: AR rubber seals are used in multiple places around the chamber, and shot bed areas help seal the top and bottom of the chamber. A flush-mount rubber liner and cast nuts help seal the rear access door.
  • Working Dimensions: A 24” swing diameter and 48” of vertical space are the optimal cleaning dimensions.
  • Cabinet Ventilation: Cabinet has air intakes and take-offs positioned to effectively evacuate blasting dusts from the cabinet.

Power & Air Requirements

  • Control Panel: Nema 12 electrical enclosure, touchscreen, PLC controlled, auto cycle, manual latch and manual jog maintenance modes, multiple timer and operation settings, optional voltages available, 3 phase.
  • Required Air: 80-100 PSI to operate abrasive valves and dust collector pulse cleaning cycle. Electric Motors: 10HP blast wheels, 1HP chamber drive, 2HP elevator, 1HP spinner, and 1HP auger.

Abrasive Cleaning & Recovery

  • Elevator and Air Wash: Belt system that carries the abrasive to an adjustable separator where 100% of the abrasive is air washed, then cleaned abrasive is deposited in the abrasive storage hopper for feeding of the blast wheels. An easy access screen is in place to help keep larger, foreign items from damaging the blast wheel components. Elevator belts are adjustable to prevent the belts from slipping as they wear.
  • Abrasive Flow: Manually adjustable, butterfly valve type abrasive valves for setting blast wheel amperage and controlling abrasive flow. Optional Magna-Valves available for automatic adjustment with different abrasives or Shot Peening use.
  • Dust Collector: Adjustable, reverse pulse, 10 cartridge collector, standard Magnehelic gauge, with options available.

Standard Operating & Safety Information

  • Safety: Blast wheels will not operate if rear cabinet door is not closed. Standard guards, covers, warning labels, and electrical protections in place. “Bump” strip on front left of cabinet to stop chamber rotation if necessary.
  • Noise: Approximately 85 DB if properly maintained and in good functioning condition.
  • Shipping Information: Approximately 9000 lbs. (depending on model and options), ships in multiple pieces on a standard flatbed trailer, and overall approximate footprint for a standard duty unit is 8’ wide x 7’ deep x 14’ tall.
